R.I.P. Warren Murphy

American writer Warren Murphy -- best known for co-creating The Destroyer series with the late Richard Ben Sapir -- put away his typewriter for the last time on September 4, 2015, at age 81.

He will be missed.

¡Feliz Cumpleaños, Warren Murphy!

Born September 13, 1933.

He is an American author who, along with his late writing partner Richard Ben Sapir, created The Destroyer series, one of my favorite men's adventure series. He also wrote quite a few good solo novels as well.

Literary Quote I Like

Some called Smith’s the “greatest generation,” but he did not agree with that assessment. The very idea that one generation was greater than another automatically diminished the accomplishments of all others not in some venerated fraternity. Smith understood that in every generation there was potential for greatness, and he did not view the blood spilled at Normandy and Iwo Jima as any more precious than that which soaked the sands of Kabul or Tikrit.
