Five Reasons to Listen to the Waitresses

1. "A Girl's Gotta Do." The ultimate feminist anthem of the 1980s.
2. "Bread and Butter." Originally written for the 1982 recession, it helped me get through the recession of the early 1990s and continues to inspire me today.
3. "No Guilt." That rarity of rarities: a positive breakup song. Proof that the end of a romantic relationship does not have to be "the end of the world."
4. "Quit." A humorous look at addiction.
5. "Wasn't Tomorrow Wonderful?" In many ways, the ultimate Waitresses song. The title song of their first album and one of their best songs overall.

I love the Waitresses and once met Chris Butler at a party -- really nice man. If you don't know it already, I highly recommend searching out "Beggar's Bullets," about his experience being one of the students who were fired upon at Kent State.

Thank you for the recommendation. I didn't realize you were a fan of them as well.

It's always nice to find out you share an interest with someone you admire.
